Make a lasting impression?
Animal rescue work is always on the increase as we are seeing more and more cases of neglect and abuse. There will never be a time where we are not needed. Despite this, we receive no funding from the government. Individual donations and legacies are our main source of income and without them we would not be able to continue. Would you like to be a part of our wonderful work for now and the future?
Check out our leaflet on how you can help, or see below.
Want to be a part of us?
Remembering the SAA in your will with a financial donation will ensure we can continue our work for animals who are less fortunate. There are a number of ways you can remember us in your will through a legacy donation:
Residuary Gift
Is the gift of all (or percentage) of the value of your estate after all charges have been paid. This is usually the most valuable kind of legacy for the Sanctuary.
Pecuniary Gift
Is the gift of a specified sum of money.
Specific Gift
Is the gift of a specific item of value such as property, jewellery or maybe a vehicle.
If you have already written your will, there are ways in which you can amend it or add to it without incurring large charges. Please speak to your solicitor. You will need to provide your solicitor with our registered charity name (“Society for Abandoned Animals”) and our registered charity number (245426).
Money left to the SAA through a legacy could be used for veterinary fees, food and other running costs. Alternatively a legacy could be left for a specific project or plan for the future; for example, a feral cat agility centre or indoor dog training arena. Please call the SAA and speak to the manager for more information regarding these.
In Memorium
The loss of someone close to you is an incredibly difficult time. Unlike flowers which fade away, please consider honouring your loved one by asking friends and family to donate to us in their name. All donations are greatly received and will benefit the animals in our care.
Thank you for your kindness.
How does your donation help?
Heating, lighting, food, veterinary costs, fuel bills – it all soon adds up. It costs the SAA over £400 every day just to remain open. All our animals are vaccinated, neutered and receive all neccessary medication and veterinary care. Our vet bills are approximately £3500 every month.
Any donation, large or small, is gratefully appreciated. Without the support of people like you, we could not exist.
There are many ways your donation can help:
£500 will pay for the care of a rescue dog for their first three months
£1,000 will buy a months’ supply of cat food for all our cats
£5,000 will buy a new transport van, essential for deliveries, pick-ups, & the transport of large dogs
£10,000 would pay for a new roof on our rabbit rehoming unit
£45,000 would pay our vet fees for a year

Thank you for thinking of us.
