Make a Financial Donation
All donations are gratefully received and help to support our work with unwanted and abandoned cats, dogs and rabbits.
The Society for Abandoned Animals receives no Government or council funding, and we do not receive money from the National Lottery; we rely entirely on individual donations to pay our running costs. With vet bills of approx. £3500 per month, it costs the charity £450 per day just to stay open.
The best way of supporting our work is through a regular donation; check out the different methods below.
£5 per month will microchip 17 cats
£10 per month will vaccinate 3 dogs
£20 per month will neuter 5 rabbits
‘Friends of the SAA’ Programme
From only £10 per month, you can become a Friend of the SAA. In addition to a welcome pack and subscription to our e-newsletter, you will receive an exclusive SAA pin badge which will give you free access to all of our onsite fundraising events. For more info and to print out a form, click here.
Donate by Standing Order or Cheque
If you would like to set up a regular monthly donation, but prefer not to do this online, simply click here to download our standing order form and return it to our office, we’ll take care of the rest.
You can also make a single donation by sending a cheque, made payable to the SAA, via the post to The Society for Abandoned Animals, Mosley Acre Farm, Barfoot Bridge, Stretford, Manchester, M32 9UP or call in to the office and where we can accept cheques and cash donations made in person.
Donate by SMS
Donating just got better! Just Giving have teamed up with Vodafone to provide a FREE SMS based donation service! Simply text the code SFAA11 followed by the amount you would like to donate to 70070. The amount you specify will then be deducted from your available credit and will be shown on your next bill.

Don’t know what to buy your awkward relative for their birthday? Try one of our sponsorship programs in their honour! It’s a great gift for any occasion.
Sponsor a Feral Cat or a Cat, Rabbit or Dog Pen for £4 per month or £48 per year, you will receive a letter from the cat, rabbit or dog currently living in your sponsored pen, a certificate and also your name displayed on the cat, rabbit or dog pen. Select an animal pen or feral cats below for a sponsor form: We do not currently have any dogs on the premises due to upcoming building works but hope this situation will change within the next few months.
Peggy’s Memorial Garden
In honor of our founder, Peggy Henderson, we have created an animal memorial garden for members of the public to come and pay tribute to well loved and much missed pets.
Simply order a tag or a plaque, with your personal remembrance message engraved upon it, and the SAA will have it made and place it in the memorial garden for you to visit at any time during the sanctuary opening hours. Alternatively, you are welcome to come down to place the tag or plaque yourself and we can even arrange for ashes to be scattered in the garden as part of a memorial ceremony upon request.
There are minimum donations for both tags and plaques, this covers the item and engraving cost but also includes a small donation towards supporting the animals in our care as well. Peggy’s Memorial Garden, a wonderful way to honor a much-loved pet and support animals in need.
