Our Summer Fair

We had closely watched the weather forecast for the past week, first it was dry, then it was showers, then it was monsoon season then it was dry again and as Sunday morning dawned we still didn’t really have a clue. However the rain was kind, it said a brief hello at 11.45 and then a slightly longer goodbye at 3.30 but in between times it was warm and often sunny with just a bit of a breeze (ok gust) every now and then.

Busy BusyApart from the bar ( yes we had a bar, enjoyed by many) and the barbecue we had all of our stalls inside the arena, I was surprised that we fitted them all in. We had 3 different tombolas, a teddy bear lottery, a toy stall, and a 10p stallWater Or Wine, you choose which made over £45, we sold a lot of items at 10p each!! We had face painting, a water or wine stall, a lollipop and hook a duck game plus 6 external stalls two of which made the arena smell lovely. In the centre of the arena we had our pet presents stall plus our Chinese Auction stall (brandy, moet and other wonderful prizes on offer there) and book stall and last but not least our refreshment stall with a bounty of homemade cakes. We also had entertainment from Greg Foster from the John Cooper Band and Helen from Sambalada Urmston.

All of our stalls were manned by our wonderful volunteers, it can never be said enough that we couldn’t do it without them. Thank you to Giddy Goat Toys, Petplan and Human Touch for their prize donations and finally thank you to our fabulous supporters.
