Nicola joined the SAA team as Fundraiser in March 2015. As with any charity the role of fundraiser is really important as charities do not receive any government funding so need to raise funds to keep rescuing and caring for animals in need. She also works closely with supporters and volunteers who help with our events, our charity barn and who take on challenges to raise money for animals.
Nicola says: “After just a short while at the rescue it is really clear to me how vital a role the rescue, staff and volunteers play. Every task they take on, be it onsite, at home or in the community, they are making a big difference to the lives of the animals.
I am delighted and excited to now be here working with the team and our supporters to help the dogs, cats and rabbits who have found themselves in the care of the SAA and hopefully onto their future forever homes.”
Previously, Nicola has worked as Fundraising and PR Assistant for the conservation charity Wild Futures, which she joined after completing her degree in BSc Animal Management and Welfare. Alongside her education and work, Nicola had volunteered at various animal sanctuaries and rescue centres around Europe.
Welcome to the team Nicola!
