Gracie and Bobby ♀♂️

What's my story?

Name:   Gracie and Bobby

Age: 2 and 10 months

Arrived at SAA:   24th December 2023

About me: Meet Mum and Son duo Gracie and Bobby. Gracie is 2 about years old and her son Bobby was born in November 2023. Sadly Gracie had not been neutered by her previous owners and her kittens were born outside in the cold winter weather. Thankfully a team of volunteers managed to catch them and bring them into our care at SAA.

Since being a few weeks old it’s been clear that Bobby was a mummy’s boy and while Gracie was a great mum to all of her kittens, she’s always had a soft spot for her little mini-me Bobby. Bobby has been Gracie’s little shadow since he was old enough to walk. Because of their bond we’re looking for a home where they can stay together. Bobby has made amazing progress and is now loving strokes and chin scratches. Once he gets to know you he’s a little purr monster! Gracie is tolerant of people and has shown no aggression towards staff or volunteers, she will let you sit next to her and talk to her and will cautiously eat treats from your hand and sometimes let you give her a quick stroke on her back. However, she is a nervous cat and prefers not to be stroked. We hope with time and patience she will learn that people aren’t so scary but it’s unlikely that she’ll ever be a lap cat.

Gracie and Bobby are looking for a special home with patient, experienced owners who will take things slowly and build a trusting bond with them. They’d like a quiet, adult only home with no dogs and ideally no other cats however this could be discussed for the right home.

We would consider a home with safe access to the outdoors on a quiet road or an indoor home provided it was big enough to have their own space and for Bobby to run around and explore. It may take much longer for them to be ready to go outdoors in a new home if they are not going to be indoor cats so please bare this in mind when applying. An indoor home with cat retaining fencing or a catio would be perfect so they can explore the outdoors without risk of being startled.
