Last Saturday a battle like no other took place in Sale. At the Sainsbury’s Big Bike riding challenge, two teams battled it out in an attempt to determine the answer to the age old question: who are the better species, Cats or Dogs?
Of course there was no real way to answer this question as here at the SAA and our partners at Sainsbury’s in Sale think they are both amazing!
The two teams rode their static bikes from 10.30 until 5pm, with riders taking it in turns. Shoppers were invited to make donations to the teams and some even had their photos taken with the cat and dog contestants!
There was also a team of volunteers bag packing at the tills to raise even more money for animals in need.
The smaller Sainsbury’s store on Washway Road is also a partner with the SAA so they held a collection, raffle and ‘Guess the number of sweets in the jar’ to raise funds and awareness of our rescue work. We feel very lucky to have two great stores supporting our animals!
Thank you again to our partners Sainsbury’s Sale and Sainsbury’s Local, Washway Road. We look forward to the many other great events we have coming up over the year!
