Red ♂️

What's my story?

Name:  Red

Age: 18 months

Arrived at SAA: 1st July 2024

About me: Meet our sweet beautiful boy Red! This young man was given his name after being found by a member of the public in Reddish Park. He’d been cruelly abandoned in a sealed plastic box with no air holes and thankfully somebody found him just in time. He was terrified, underweight and had a nasty wound on his forehead. Red is a very placid puss. He is a shy boy who mostly stays curled up in his bed, enjoying the odd head rub. With time and trust he will perhaps be a little bit more adventurous in his forever home, although there is a chance he’ll be a lifelong snuggle bug, content to just curl up and watch the world go by.

On arriving at the shelter, we thought Red was refusing to eat so began feeding him by hand. We soon realised that this little cheeky monkey was in fact a secret eater who is fond of a late night snack…as well as being fed like he’s an emperor! These days we are greeted every morning by a bowl that has been licked almost perfectly clean, handy if you’re looking to save on your dishwasher bills.

Due to Red’s timid personality he would be best suited to a single cat household or a home with a gentle and friendly kitty pal who would give him his space. Red appreciates the quieter life so would not like to live in a busy household with a dog or with young children.

Red will require safe access to the outside, away from busy main roads once he has settled into his new home.
