Oliver ♂️

What's my story?

Meet Oliver,

He is about 2 years old and was brought in to the rescue in a very sorry state. He was covered in wounds where he’d been attacked and bitten by other cats, if you scroll through his photos you can see what he looked like when he was brought in. We think he started life as someone’s household pet before being made homeless as a young cat and had been living on the streets ever since. He was named ‘Oliver’ by the people who were feeding him as he always used to come back for “some more”, and he remains a very food motivated little chap to this day.

Oliver is a gentle sweetheart who has come on leaps and bounds since his arrival at the shelter. At first he would hiss whenever anyone came near him, though he didn’t once scratch or bite, it became clear that he did this because he was fearful and it had been a long time since he’d felt safe. We’re delighted to say that he’s now learned to miaow to say “hello” and he barely ever hisses (just when he forgets how to say hello for a second!) He’s come so far and has learned to trust the staff and volunteers at the SAA and loves a good head scratch.

Oliver is looking for a home with safe access to the outdoors. He needs an adult only household and would be best suited to someone who has owned a cat before. Because of his past experiences he wouldn’t like to live with any dogs but may be suited to a home with other cats.
