What's my story?

Name: Chunky Charlie

Age: 10 years old

Arrived at SAA: October 2025

About me: Meet big lad Chunky Charlie. He was found by dog walkers who heard him crying under a bush in a local park. When he stayed in the same spot for several days, they realised he needed help and brought him to the shelter. We appealed to find his owner, but no one came forward, so now we’re looking to get this charming chonk his forever home!

He’s a gentle boy who adores company and affection, though he’s not shy about sharing a few “grumble rumbles” when something isn’t quite to his liking. It’s never anything more than a bit of muttering—just our lovely Chunk’s way of expressing his opinions about the world.

Chunky Charlie is currently on an important weight-loss journey. He loves his food and will gladly accept any treat offered to him, so he’s looking for adopters who can support his diet plan and resist spoiling him with extras. With a bit of encouragement and gentle play, he’ll be well on his way to a healthier lifestyle.

Chunky Charlie could happily live with older children and would likely be fine in a home with another cat after careful introduction. However, he is not a fan of dogs and would prefer a canine-free home where he can relax in peace.

Chunky Charlie is ready for a safe, loving home where he can enjoy cuddles, company, and a weight-loss plan he can’t sweet-talk his way out of.

Am I an indoor or outdoor cat? Safe access to the outdoors away from any busier roads with space to explore

Can I live with other cats? Yes

Can I live with children? Yes, with older children 

All animals adopted from SAA are chipped, vaccinated and neutered before going to their new homes.
