During a career break after many years in sales, taken to bring up my daughter, I began volunteering at the SAA both in the office and with the rabbits. In a complete change of career I'm now employed by the SAA as a Volunteer Co-ordinator working 4 days a week.
At home I'm currently kept busy by one teenaged girl and two cheeky, lionhead house-rabbits. The buns were, of course, adopted from the SAA!"

I started coming to the SAA in February 2008 as a volunteer dog walker and trainer. I spent a few months as a temporary animal care assistant and have now moved indoors as a part time Office Assistant.
At home I have four dogs, six cats and a ferret, all rescued. In my spare time I compete at dog agility with my lurchers.

I satarted volunteering here in March 2011 on a placement and in August 2011 I landed the Office Co-ordinator role.
I started fostering a mum cat and her 5 kittens which opened up a passion that I never thought I had for cats. I am now a proud owner of Pebbles who I originally fostered but have now decided to adopt, much to my little girls excitement.
thoroughly enjoy working here as I have the opportunity to see many different animals and help make a difference.

I started volunteering at the SAA in 2010 helping out with corporate sponsorship in the office one day a week. Quietly I would sneak out to go out and socilise with the animals.Initially I wanted to work with the animals, but I saw an area which needed a lot of help so I focused on that.
I now hold a full time position as a Volunteer Co-ordinator.I am currently studying Wildlife Management as well as Animal Communication through correspondence.
Sadly due to renting, I dont own any animals but hope to one day. I have had various animals growing up in Zimbabwe from Vervet monkeys, dogs, cats, eagles and many more.

I joined the Society as a trustee in 2003, currently I am the General Manager and co-ordinate the excellent team of staff and liaise with the Trustee's and volunteers.
Me and my wife Veronique have 2 dogs, Dexter & Pippin, a rescued cat Maisie, and I act as a cat foster carer as and when needed by the Society.

I joined the SAA in 2006 as an office administrator with the goal of helping the staff and volunteers raise awareness of the Sanctuary and to successfully home our animals. As a child, our family pets were numerous budgies, bred by my father and several cats prized and spoilt by us all. Later, I progressed to owning 2 rabbits: one arrived as a present, then several years later one from a broken home. All have brought fond memories and much joy.
